If you know me and the site already you can skip this and get back to doing whatever it is you were doing here. For the rest of you, here are the broad strokes.
If you’re looking for a (William) Michael Rollins and think I might be him, I was in or around Dallas, Texas until around 1985, then jumped around a bit. There was a spell in the Navy, sort of a long one. School in Great Lakes, LA, Vallejo, then on to San Diego and assorted ports of call courtesy of the USS England. Moved to Seattle to study Chinese but ultimately graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in Japanese I moved to Tokyo in 1999 and have been here ever since.
Now I make Tokyo my home, and spend my time directing activities at Netwise, the company (originally called Tajera Consulting Group) I founded in November of 2001. We help our clients do business and other things on the web.
My primary personal interests are my family, food/dining, wine (mostly French wine from Languedoc and the Rhone Valley), Japanese language, music and economics. At work I focus on Internet business strategy and execution, online marketing, SEO, ecommerce and multilingual Internet system architecture and development.
Hope that clears things up. Thanks for dropping by.
Congratulations on finding my personal blog. It's been around in various incarnations since 1997, which is before blogs were called "blogs." See if you can top that.
My name is michael, and denbushi (電武士) is the now-dorky-seeming online name I made up back when I thought (ever so presciently) that some kind of unique nickname for the interwebs might be handy. Just for the record, it IS unique (even today!) except for this jujitsu variant/dojo in Puerto Rico which co-opted it without even asking me. If I had to cage-fight them for exclusive use of "denbushi" chances are good they'd win. But I'd still do it.
These days I live in Tokyo and mostly use my real name. A few years ago I founded a design and marketing agency called netwise. We do web and internet stuff. We're pretty good at it.
