May comes in like a lamb, and slouches out with the weary indifference of an afternnon drunk. The days are cool at first, calling you out into the sun to feel its warm rays and be thankful for the end of Winter. But in a handful of weeks there's the Rainy Season (tsuyu, they say here) and then the full-on sweatscapade known as Summer in Tokyo. Already I'm bracing myself for the sweating to come. I cherishith it not.

But it's good now, for these few weeks, to get outside and enjoy the change of seasons. And walking outside in the evenings is actually pure bliss. I've been exploring the outskirts of Tokyo, mostly looking for a good place to rollerblade and sit on the beach, and as luck would have it I've not been completely unsuccessful.

I'm also recovering nicely after my run-in with the ILOVEYOU virus. I could explain just why exactly I opened the thing in the first place, the long series of historical events that culminated in my Inbox to find me clicking frantically at the attachment to see what lie within, but I won't. First, it's very personal, and even as a keen Web Exhibitionist I have some guidelines with regard to what I post online. Secondly, in doing so I would be revealed for the dumbass that I really am. So don't ask.

Anyway.

All is well now. I wasn't burned too badly, had backups of my priceless collection of Internet porn and scanned photos, and even used the opportunity as an excuse to nuke the OS on Computer 1 (the victim) and install Windows 2000 on Computer 2, a multi-processor system just itching for a better SMP solution than NT 4.0.

So life goes on in its merry, perspirating fashion, and I try to cover some of the finer points in the latest Communique. Cheers.
